After-H Battle Arena

SEASON 8 | 5 strategies to dominate Reef Point

DIVE INTO THE HEART OF REEF POINT

Season 8 of EVA Battle Arena takes us to Elara. At the heart of this new map: Reef Point, built around a system of three bridge-gates capable of literally reshaping the battlefield mid-match. Open, they free up the ground-level passage but block access to the heights. Closed, it's the opposite: the ground floor shuts down, the walkways open up.

Which means that on Reef Point, classic firefights aren't enough. Here are 5 strategies to gain the upper hand, whatever mode you're playing.

🎮 Take control of the consoles before anything else

Two consoles scattered across the map let you remotely control the bridge-gate configuration. On Reef Point, the real fight starts before the first shots are even exchanged: the team that secures a console first decides who plays up high and who plays on the ground.

Don't rush straight to the central point while ignoring these zones, a player or duo dedicated to taking a console from the start of the round can literally dictate the pace of the rest of the match.

🚪 Adapt the gate state to your game mode

Each bridge-gate configuration favors a different playstyle, and the best choice depends on what you're playing:

  • In Domination, keep the gates closed around the control point to cut off ground-level angles and force the opponent through the heights, which are more exposed and easier to defend over time.

  • In Gun Game, where the pace of engagements matters more than objective control, opening the ground-level gates multiplies your rotation routes and lets you escape a duel you're bound to lose.

  • Keep an eye on the arrival of Hardpoint (September) and Team Deathmatch (October): gate management will take on yet another dimension there, between protecting a moving objective and pure territorial control.

🏢 Never leave the central HQ unwatched

The central control point remains the strategic heart of the map regardless of the bridge-gate state. It's the natural crossing point between the two consoles, which makes it both the most contested and the most rewarding zone to hold. A common mistake is over-investing in the outer zones to take a console and forgetting to leave a player supporting the center.

🔀 Stay versatile: be ready for the ground AND the heights

Because the gate configuration can change mid-fight, the teams that do best on Reef Point are the ones that don't bet everything on a single game plan. Keep at least one player who can quickly switch between a ground-support role and a high-ground control position.

🗣️ Communicate the gate state in real time

On a map where the geometry changes mid-round, the most valuable information isn't always the enemy's position — it's the current state of the gates. A simple "gates closed, they're coming from up top" called out in time can prevent a full wipe. Assign a player to track the consoles and communicate their state: on Reef Point, the team best synchronized on this point consistently gains the upper hand over the one reacting on instinct.

Reef Point rewards teams that think of the map as a system rather than a backdrop. Control the consoles, read the current configuration, keep an eye on the center, stay flexible, and communicate.
